Wat als je niet zeker bent over je tattoo idee?

Heb je besloten om een tatoeage te laten zetten? Hell yeah! Maar je weet niet zeker of je idee goed is, zal werken, er mooi uit zal zien, etc.? Dat is helemaal prima en normaal! Hier zijn wat tips voor jou.

• Raadpleeg een tatoeëerder: Ik kan dit niet genoeg benadrukken, maar de meesten van ons staan er open voor als je vragen stelt over je tattoo. Zelfs als je nog geen afspraak wil maken. Bij mij kan je zeker terecht. Stel duizend vragen en ik zal proberen je te begeleiden bij je beslissing. Respecteer wel zeker de communicatiemethode van elke artiest (e-mail, pm, ...).
• Plaatsing is belangrijk: niet alles staat mooi op elk lichaamsdeel. Vooral als je overweegt een grotere tattoo te nemen. Flow is alles.
• Zoek inspiratie: ga online en zoek en verzamel de tatoeages die je mooi vindt. Pinterest is een geweldige bron. Wees je er echter van bewust dat niet alles wat je online ziet ook 'mogelijk' is. Dit brengt me bij mijn volgende punt ->
• Keep an open mind: het kan zijn dat je idee gewoon niet werkt als tattoo, te klein, te veel in één tattoo, ... wees flexibel en houd je opties open. Soms is het beter om niet te veel ideeën in één tattoo te proppen. Hou het simpel, dat is tijdloos.
• Denk aan je toekomst: laat je niet vangen door tattootrends. Vind je dit over 5 jaar nog steeds mooi? Past dit bij jou als persoon? Vooral bij zichtbare tatoeages weet je nooit wat je over een paar jaar in je leven doet.

• Placement is important: not everything looks great on every part of the body. Especially when you are thinking about getting a bigger tattoo. Flow is everything.
• Look for inspiration: go online and search and collect the tattoos that you like. Pinterest is a great source. However, be aware that not everything you see online is therefore 'possible'. This brings me to my next point ->
• Keep an open mind: it could be that your idea simply doesn't work as a tattoo, will be too small, is too much in one tattoo, … be flexible and hold your options open. Sometimes it's better to not cram too much ideas in one tattoo. Keep it simple, that will be timeless.
• Think about your future: don't let yourself be caught by tattoo trends. Will you still like this in 5 years' time? Is this fitting for you as a person? Especially for visible tattoos, you never know what you will be doing in your life in a couple of years.
